COHRlastic® Rubber

Sumitube® products conform to a wide range of industry standards including military, aerospace, UL and CSA. In addition, many specialty type materials are offered such as high-temperature, low smoke, medical, conductive, chemical resistant, and low outgassing grades. Materials available include irradiated cross-linked heat-shrinkable polyolefins, fluoroplastics, and elastomers in diameters ranging from 3/64″ to 4″, in colors. With the controlled application of heat, the diameter of a Sumitube® product will be reduced to a pre-determined size, thus providing an excellent conformal and protective insulating layer over many types of substrates. Expanded vs. Recovered diameters may have shrink ratios that vary from 1.3-to-1 up to 6.0-to-1. In addition to the standard sizes, colors, shrink ratios, and packaging shown in the accompanying data sheets, Sumitomo Electric Interconnect Products, Inc. will be delighted to customize products that better accommodate the end-user needs.

Solid Rubber

The COHRlastic® solid silicone rubber line includes specification grade, high-performance grade and electrically conductive grade products.  Solid Rubber Products range in thicknesses from .012” (.031mm) to .500” (12.7mm) in durometer, hardness from 30-70 on the Shore A scale.

Foam Rubber

COHRlastic® F-12 modified cell silicone foam rubber provides excellent flame retardancy (UL 94 V-0) with low toxicity and smoke generation in a conformable expanded cellular material. COHRlastic F-12 is produced in a low 12 lb/ft3 density for light gasketing and insulation applications.

Reinforced Solid Rubber

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics manufacturers a line of fiberglass-reinforced silicone solid rubber. The fiberglass increases the product’s dimensional stability for high-pressure applications, while functioning over a wide temperature range. Most products feature different solid silicone rubber durometers (hardness) on both sides of the fiberglass reinforcement.

Sponge Rubber

Key benefits of our closed cell sponge include thermal stability over a wide temperature range, excellent compression set resistance, ozone and UV resistance. Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics subjects all of our closed cell sponge products to a special final cleaning process that lowers the material out gassing for cleaner operation.
